Ok I know people are sick of hearing about it, but I have a few tips from our time away. For all the amazing experiences we had, I also learned a few things that may help anyone thinking about jumping onboard a cruise ship.
Lesson one - you will deffo need to invest in some of these

Sun lounger clips are a must - if you don't tie it down, your towel will end up overboard. It's also a perfect excuse to play the Germans at their own game and go mark you spot before they take it.
Lesson two - don't get burned on the second day (see below). It's part of being british, the sun comes out and you can't help but lay there like a star fish catching ever ray of sun in case the weather turns and you end up going home pasty white. However pasty white has to be better than burnt red

lesson three - most ships operate a cash less system using your door key so everything you buy on board will get charged to your room at the end. It's very easy to be sitting at the bar or in the casino and forget this and you may well need a second mortgage after seeing your end bill :)
lesson four - the picture below is a load of OAPs crossing a river on one of our tours. Remember when you are booking tours that allot of people on the ship will be over 50 and tours such as this one (an eco tour of the rainforest) will be more of a challenge for them than you - just be patient and enjoy all the toffees they give you
Lesson five - the same cards that buy you stuff on board also get you on and off the ship. So when Ben took my card horse riding in Grenada I had to use his. Not a problem - except they take pictures of each person when you get on board - so I had to disguise myself to get on and off the ship (see below) thank god we look similar
lesson six - never wear a jumper in the Caribbean, even if it's raining. You end up carrying it everywhere and look like a right tourist - fatal error
lesson seven - all inclusive is dangerous. They do a buffet breakfast, snack bar, buffet lunch, afternoon tea and a massive dinner buffet. Over a stone I put on in a week - it was just soooo good and I couldn't say no
the last lesson is remember it's a classy environment. You are expected to wear a shirt to dinner (we packed one each) and when the man offers you a selection of bread at the start, don't do a me and use your hands to grab what you want. You are suppose to say - "one would like that one" and the waiter used his tong to get it. I looked like a right idiot lol
i would defiantly recommend going cruising - it's amazing to be at sea, see so many different places and meet so many new people from all backgrounds. Just sit back and enjoy the experience. Peace out
